All are coloured and assembled in Marseille, mounted with mineral photochromic sun lenses. They have an extra trick, and I hope they will fit you particularly well.
Parlé Optique is an eyewear studio based in Marseille (France). I'm Jean-Luc Legoupil, 47 years old. I work part-time for an eyewear brand as designer. The rest of the time, I develop my own glasses. The starting point is to work with a single material, a transparent cellulose acetate sourced in Japan. Since 2017 my frames are always made with this unique material.
In 2021 I started dyeing acetate.
With the 3/4 cotton fiber contained in the cellulose acetate, the dyes keep the natural characteristics of the material and give the color added saturation and richness. This technique has been used for decades by eyeglass craftsmen or for hair accessories. The pigments are produce in Malakoff in France. The frames are hand-dyed in Marseille. The glasses will be unique and will have traces, marks and imperfections. This is intentional.
